You really want to choose an image that is already in a neutral state, like straight out of camera. Edit your starting imageīelow is the image I will be starting with. This file will be the core representation of our LUT that we can apply the effects of multiple programs or Photoshop adjustments. So what we’re going to being doing is using a special file called a HALD file that we will create using the LUT Generator. The only issue is that you can’t edit that LUT with another program and you can’t apply edits to your LUT using the Camera Raw filter. It’s true that you can export a LUT using Photoshop, and that is a great feature. In this tutorial I’ll be using Photoshop but you can use any imaging software you want. The first thing you’ll have to do to get started is download the key component of this tutorial, the LUT Generator from IWLTBAP. We can apply all the color adjustments we want to this image using multiple programs to create a highly refined LUT for our editing workflow. Using the LUT generator we will apply the effects of our edits to a special image. In this tutorial we’ll be using the LUT Generator from IWLTBAP.
